I bought a one way ticket in Swansea and sailed to Ireland. When I arrived I had nothing to show of my work as a painter because I had forgotten my suitcase filled with note books, drawings, photographs and sentimental things.
I did have my flute and a bag of oil paints with me though and when I was settled in Cork City, I purchased a stretched canvas and painted a signature piece.
